Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 November 2026
Baqilak is a mobile app that helps small sellers in Oman record customer orders, deposits and payments. This policy explains what information we hold, why we hold it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
Who we are
Baqilak is operated by [legal entity name, commercial registration number and registered address in the Sultanate of Oman]. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that entity. "You" means the seller who creates a Baqilak account.
Two kinds of information
Your account information is about you, the seller. We decide how it is used, and we are responsible for it.
Your business records are the details you enter about your own customers and orders. You decide what to record and why. We store and process them only to run Baqilak for you, and only on your instructions.
What we collect
This marketing website does not use accounts, forms or advertising trackers. [Confirm before launch whether privacy-friendly analytics will be added.]
- Account details: your email address, and the sign-in codes or links we send to it.
- Business profile: business name, owner name, business category and business phone number.
- Customer details you enter: customer names, phone numbers and any notes you add.
- Order and payment records: items, prices, due dates, deposits, payments, refunds, statuses and your own notes.
- Settings: language, reminder templates and preferences.
- Technical information: device type, app version, and limited service logs used to keep Baqilak secure and working. We design these logs to exclude customer and financial details.
How we use it
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your customers' phone numbers to contact them, market to them, or share them with advertisers.
- To provide the app: storing your orders, calculating balances and showing what is due or overdue.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To prepare WhatsApp reminder messages when you ask for one.
- To answer support requests you send us.
- To meet our legal obligations.
WhatsApp reminders
Baqilak does not send messages on your behalf. When you tap a reminder, the app opens WhatsApp on your phone with a prepared message. You choose whether to send it. Once a message is in WhatsApp, it is handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. Opening WhatsApp does not tell us whether a message was delivered or read.
Your responsibilities for customer information
Because you choose what to record about your customers, you are responsible for having a lawful reason to keep their details and to contact them, for example to follow up on an order they placed with you. Record only what you need, and keep it accurate.
Legal basis and Oman's Personal Data Protection Law
We process personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Law of the Sultanate of Oman, issued by Royal Decree No. 6/2022, and its Executive Regulation. We rely on the need to perform our agreement with you, on your instructions for your business records, and on our legal obligations. Where the law requires consent, we will ask for it clearly. [Legal counsel to confirm the applicable bases, any registration or permit requirements, and data protection officer obligations.]
Where your data is stored
[Hosting region to be confirmed.] If data is stored or processed outside Oman, we will do so only as permitted by the Personal Data Protection Law and with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and business records while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within [30] days, except where we must keep limited records by law. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule of [up to 35] days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Each business's records are isolated from every other business, and access is checked on the server for every request. Exports are available only to the signed-in account owner. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the competent authority of a personal data breach as the law requires.
Your rights
Your customers can contact you directly about their details, since you control those records. If a customer contacts us, we will refer them to you and help you respond. You can also raise a concern with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, which oversees personal data protection in Oman.
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Export your orders and customers.
- Delete your account and its data.
- Object to or withdraw consent for processing where the law allows.
Children
Baqilak is for sellers aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly create accounts for children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
